Phishing Reminder

Recently a number of customers received a phishing scam email regarding membership pricing.  Please remember to protect yourself against internet predators by exercising caution with all emails you receive.  Here are a few helpful reminders about how to spot a phishing attack:

  1. Hover over any links with your mouse before you click on them.  If the link doesn’t lead you to the company’s website, or to a normal link without many letters and numbers, it may be a phishing scam.
  2. Look for our logo.  Emails sent without our logo may be suspicious.
  3. Double-check the “from” address to make sure it’s from a source that you recognize.
  4. Look for generic emails that use scare tactics.  An email that doesn’t use your name and threatens unreasonable action after a short deadline can often be a sign of phishing.
  5. Watch for bad grammar, spelling, or capitalizations.

Remember, Boats Group or any of its brands will never ask you for your password, credit card or bank account numbers. Neither will we ask you for any other sensitive information via email.   If you have any questions, please contact our customer service team.
